Mouthguards Splints
Sport is an important part of keeping fit and socialising with others for both children and adults. To protect your teeth, we recommend that anyone who is playing a contact sports has a custom made mouthguard. Our laboratories produce high quality, comfortable and durable mouthguards that will ensure your teeth remain protected no matter what happens, and we can make them in any colour you desire.
A wide range of custom made Mouthguards are available for various sports such as AFL, Basketball, Boxing, Karate, Hockey, Netball, Roller Derby, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Soccer and Water Polo.
Mouthguards are not all created equal
Our custom-made mouthguards give you proven state of the art protection to reduce the risk of injury, and provide the comfort to allow you to perform confidently at your peak performance.
Comparing dentist fabricated, custom sports mouthguards with Boil & Bite type mouthguards reveals significant differences.
Boil & Bite mouth guards do not fit as accurately as custom sports mouthguards, and they also move. The athlete is required to hold the mouthguard onto the teeth with their tongue and cheeks, preventing them from focusing on performance. Boil & Bite mouthguards also provide a false sense of protection due to the dramatic decrease in thickness when the athlete bites it into place whilst it is soft. Force can be unequally distributed in trauma to the jaw bone or teeth, increasing the risk of trauma to the jaw and teeth due to an ill-fitting mouth guard.
A custom-made mouthguard fits exactly onto the teeth, does not move, and allows you to breathe freely, speak normally, and for all concentration to be sport-centred.
Bite Splints
Bite splints are similar to ultra-thin mouth guards, and are excellent for patients who grind their teeth, a medical condition called bruxism, or who clench their jaw in their sleep, as they help protect your teeth and relieve the pain that you may experience.
Over time, bruxism will result in the wearing down of your natural tooth enamel, and studies suggest that those who grind and clench their teeth may experience significantly more wear compared to those who do not.
A custom-made bite splint provides many benefits, and is comfortable when worn in the mouth. The splint covers only the teeth in either upper or lower jaw and does not extend over the soft tissue. In addition to relieving head, neck, jaw joint and shoulder pain, it protects existing teeth and dental restorations, and is recommended for those who have crowns, bridges, implants, veneers and dentures.
We can produce a customised bite splint for you, which will be comfortable to wear and help you get a more peaceful sleep.
